Human resources: Human resource is the workforce of a nation or an organization with skill and ability. It is require in any country to develop and to be a prosperous. 

Human resource Development: Human resource development (HRD) is the framework for helping employees develop their personal and organizational skill, knowledge and ability. It is very important in an organization because employees get opportunities to develop their skill and they can add values to their organization through their well performance.

Types of Human resources: Skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled

Skilled Human Resources: The people who are trained, well educated, energetic, devoted, experienced in their field and are capable to do their work effectively and efficiently are skilled Human Resources. Skilled human resource is required to develop a nation. It can be prepared through education and training.

Semi-skilled Human Resources: The person who is simply educated, trained, experienced and are capable to do any type of work but not in efficiently and effectively are called semi-skilled human resources.

Unskilled Human Resources: The people who are not educated, trained, experienced and are incapable of doing any work without the help of other skilled or semi-skilled people are unskilled human resources.

Temporary Human Resources: The people who are recruited for a short period of time. For example temporary police recruitment for election (म्यादी प्रहरी)

Fixed Human Resources: The human resources (manpower) who gain knowledge and training once and perform their work continuously throughout their lifetime are called fixed Human Resources. For example Carpenter, Painter, mason, etc.

Constant Human Resources: The manpower who takes education and training for a specific field and work in the specific field for a long time. For example: Army, Police, Doctor, etc.

Human Resource Management (HRM): It is the management of human resources or manpower in an organization designed to maximize employees' performance in the service. Its aim is to develop and implement policies related to manage a diverse workforce.

Issues emphasized on HRD: Education, Training, Work efficiency and quality production.

Short-term Human resource: The human resources prepared for a short period of time are Short-term Human Resource. For example: workers engaged during plantation and harvesting.

Long term Human resource: The human resources prepared for a long period of time are long term Human Resources. For example: civil service, Police, Army, doctors, etc.

Challenge in HRD: Challenge in the Human resource Development in Nepal is the inability to produce skilled manpower who can compete in the international market.
